Bluetooth technology removes the wires that used to tie up digital devices. It can connect digital device within a range of 10 meters of each other. Bluetooth has specializations for very low cost, low power applications with simple interfaces to printers especially useful for non-PC devices.

Bluetooth compared to 802.11 system in terms of for a wide range of uses that spans beyond desktop PCs, including consumer electronics, telecommunications, automotive, mobile computing and entertainment. This ensures that Bluetooth wireless technology will always be cheaper than 802.11 system.

802.11 system is a wireless networking technology. It support features like handover between access points and acting as a transparent wireless network expanding the wired network. 802.11 system costs and consumes battery life more than Bluetooth.

In additional, 802.11 systems are limited by specification to three co-located system, while Bluetooth specification permit up to ten co-located systems. This results in better spactial capacity for 10-system Bluetooth network than for the 3-system 802.11 network.
