Partners NEC Electronics to Improve Performance and Capability of
Thumbdrive
The
new chips performance is targeted to be the worlds fastest
SINGAPORE,
25 March 2003 - Mainboard listed engineering solutions provider,
Trek 2000 International Ltd today announced that, together with
NEC Electronics Corporation, Japan, it has developed a new chip
solution that will improve and propel the performance of its renowned
storage device ThumbDrive Smart.
Compared
to the chip that is presently being used in the ThumbDrive Smart,
the new chip incorporates enhanced speed, capacity and density.
Moreover, as all these improved capabilities can now be closely
integrated into one chip, it will also support further product miniaturization.
Relative to the first generation of chips used, the new chip will
increase the speed of the ThumbDrive Smart by 10 times. Its transfer
speed is targeted to be the worlds fastest. The ThumbDrives
that incorporate this chip will be known as ThumbDrive 2Smart.
Commenting
